Diego Basantes

An Ecuadorian native, Diego has participated as a director, performer, and resident in several companies between Ecuador, Mexico, and Spain. He has worked in countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, Spain and Portugal.
He has been a beneficiary of several scholarships: FONCA-CEPRODAC (2013-2015), MÉXICO EN ESCENA (2008-2013), COPRODUCTION AND ARTISTIC RESIDENCE PORTUGAL-SPAIN (2017).

As a choreographer, he has worked hand in hand with Rêves on projects and brands such as Spotify Awards, Televisa “My purpose is you”, Infonavit, Pepsi, Kellogg’s, Julia Stone, Sura, Daniela Spalla, Harry Styles or Palacio de Hierro. In 2021, he was assistant choreographer on two of the most important films ever shot in Mexico: Alejandro González Iñárritu’s feature film ‘Bardo’ and the musical film ‘La Usurpadora’ by Santiago Limón..
