Despite his background in the Mexican punk-garage scene (in projects such as Gula 2003), Lalo Balandrano, from a very young age, is considered one of the best Jazz drummers in the country. A tireless student of the percussion instrument, both his commitment and discipline have led him to obtain various awards and scholarships. Thanks to this, he obtained his master’s degree at William Paterson University with a full scholarship. Since then, he has not stopped collaborating with different Jazz projects, as well as with numerous more pop and commercial projects such as Belinda, Ximena Sariñana, Fermín ex-Control Machete, María del Sol, and Alejandra Guzmán, among others. Thanks to his multiple collaborations, Lalo has participated both in concerts and in renowned festivals, such as ‘Vive Latino’, Pal Norte, the Cervantino Festival and Polanco International Jazz Festival, among others.
