Sofía Cuen is the director and CEO of Perception The Electroshowcase, a project focused on the artistic and dance community that brings together showcases, stage experiences, battles, and educational activities centered around electrodance and related styles. This platform was created with the aim of professionalizing the scene, promoting local talent, and connecting artists from different regions with international projection.
At a competitive level, she has stood out as Top 8 Regional and Top 4 National in Red Bull Dance Your Style, as well as reaching the Top 16 at the Equeenz World Championship (electrowomen) in France, and the Top 16 International Open Styles in the same country.
She is currently a member of Klexos Company, where she participated in the production Balanç, presented in various theaters in Guadalajara. She is also part of Mazelfreten, representing the piece Rave Lucid in Mexico.
She was part of the cast of Provisoria, a multidisciplinary stage production presented at Teatro Experimental de Jalisco, where she also choreographed the final piece. This work received the Audience Award “La Butaca” for Best Choreography. Additionally, she performed as a dancer in Tratado Universal de Color, a show by artist Rubén C. X. Sinensis, presented at the Conjunto Santander Auditorium.
She has performed in various stages, music videos, and events such as Remind GNP and Picnic 7B, as well as collaborations with artists and projects including Yetzirah Vargas, Pepe Muñoz, CXsinensis, and Paulina Desdier.
In her authorial work, she has developed pieces where electrodance becomes a form of stage narrative. She is the choreographer and performer of Resurgir, her first personal work presented at The StageLand, integrating OG and NG elements of the movement. She also choreographed and performed We Are Living the Future alongside her group of young students, presented at La Gozadera at Teatro Experimental de Jalisco, as well as Little Great Hope, performed by her students at Perception The Electroshowcase.
In the audiovisual field, she appeared as a performer in the short film What Do You Do With Everything You Feel?, directed by Ale Nuño, a project that has been selected and awarded at multiple international festivals and showcases.
She also works as a teacher in disciplines such as heels, electrokids, urban, and contemporary dance. She is currently a member of Opem Crew, participating in Team vs Team Cyberhood CDMX, and previously was part of Colectivo Non, performing in Team vs Team ElectrodanceCamp Durango. Additionally, she has served as a judge in the Open Styles category at national events such as Merequetengue, LMP Studio, Chapubronx, WeArt, and The Groovin.
Her work is distinguished by her commitment to community building, the professionalization of the electrodance scene, and a constant pursuit of stage innovation and artistic development.
